On its own, this fragrance is definitely not my favorite, but once you mix it with a sweet vanilla fragrance, it comes alive, adding another layer of complexity. I personally add it to Le Male elixir, it's a 10/10 then!

Interesting but not for everyone.
Tried this because some say it is a more masculine twist on the BR540 dna. Kalan opens up warm and sweet in a way that is reminiscent of BR540 with some spice, but moss makes the drydown really earthy, dry, and sterile. The best way I can describe it is concrete mix blended with amber and black pepper. It's a very unique fragrance and I can see why it is polarizing. I appreciate the composition, but it will not be a regular wear for me. I once read an online comment where someone was in search of a fragrance that made them "smell like the moon". Kalan might have been a good suggestion for that person!

Unique!!
Perfection. I dont understand how anyone could dislike this. Sweet and Spice and good longevity. So far i think this is my fave PDM just beating Layton Exclusive. I highly recommend this..... however if you are new to Niche perfumery im not sure you would appreciate the blend and the vibe of this. I love this.

This fragrance was live at first sniff! The opening MIGHT not be for everyone, but after 10-15 minutes I promise you'll love it. Kalan & Carlisle are my favorites from PDM... Both are original, long lasting, compliment magnets! In addition, I love the fast delivery & savings that I get whenever I buy from Fragrance X.

I've watched & read a lot of reviews about PDM Kalan and I must say I was intrigued , so with a few PDMs in my collection I was contemplating whether or not my newest PDM would be Kalan or Godolphin , I went with Kalan . WOW , I've worn this now for a good couple of days in Melbourne's Winter and find this sent to be amazing. I totally agree with all the fragrance reviewers out there , you're either going love or hate this fragrance , that being said I find the sharp pepper and spice go very well with the sweetness of the fragrance, it's an usual fragrance combo and I find it works. I totally recommend this fragrance to anyone that likes and wants something different , again like some people have already mentioned , go easy with the sprays , you definitely don't need a lot when it comes to Kalan , it's pretty powerful. This in my opinion is a winter scent for me , there's no way I would wear this in an Australian summer. To wrap up , I find this to be an intriguing powerful scent by PDM and I am so glad it's in my collection, can't wait to add Godolphin to my collection.

A unique winner
Tons of compliments when I wear this. It has a very strong opening and it lingers for 6-8 hours, so I only do 3-4 sprays when applying. I could see how people do not like this at first, but the dry down morphs into an earthy/musky/slightly fruity finish that peaks curiosity from everyone I'm around. This is a bold scent, and I love it!

Threw me off at first but I opened up to it.
Kind of a harsh peppery opening but once it dries down you can smell the smokiness and the warmth. Really good stuff. Wouldn't just smell it from the bottle, I think you have to wear it for a little to appreciate it. Not for everyone though!

Only if you like the idea of a Blood Orange
I would only give this about 2-3 sprays per wear. The opening is a very sharp Blood orange with a tad bit of sweetness. The sharpness honestly mirrors that of Layton Exclusif in a sense but nonetheless this red bottle gets the job done and will ultimately garnish you compliments, especially on the dry down.
